About

Cape Craft Services was established in June 2002 as a family-owned and run business. We are officially 8 years old this year! This is still true today, with Howard van der Westhuizen at the helm, assisted by his daughter Gaynor as the office administrator, and son Jean-Pierre assisting with the day to day running of the business. Other staff include  Avonia, our production administrator and Bonga, our trusty factotum.

From humble beginnings Cape Craft Services has become a force to be reconed with in the laser cutting and engraving arena, having clients like Top Billing, the flagship lifestyle magazine television program of SABC (the South African national broadcaster) and internationally acclaimed fashion designers and interior decorators. Take a look under the “Media” tab to see where our work has been showcased.

As from 2011 Christa van der Westhuizen purchased Cape Craft Services from Howard who will be taking a permanent Medical break.

Christa will be trading as Cape Craft Laser Cutting and has retained the same staff.

The same high standards and quality products can be expected from Christa and her staff as you our valued customers have become accustomed to. Christa brings a host of experience to Cape Craft Laser Cutting. Having recently sold 1st Signs her sign company and Fine Wood Craft her manufacturing business. Fine Wood Craft was established in 1992. Christa’s focus will be Cape Craft Laser Cutting (CCLC) and expanding her laser cutting capabilities by acquiring faster and larger laser cutting equipment is her first priority.

From laser cutting and engraving we have expanded our services to range from acrylic line bending to producing vinyl stickers, silk-screening, sign writing and the manufacture of edge-lit promotional items. The full range of services offered can be found under the “Services” tab.

We are always looking to stay at the (laser) cutting edge of the industry, and invest regularly in new technologies and techniques. If you have an unusual requirement, contact us. The chances are we will be able to assist you. Click the “Contact” tab, and let us have your request right now!
